Kingscote Village Hall Accounts 2019

Dear All,

Please see attached Kingscote Village Hall Accounts for 2019 kindly prepared by Philip Kendall.

In summary, it is pleasing to see that we have a surplus of income over expenditure during the course of 2019 compared to the previous year where we had a deficit because of the kitchen improvements. There is quite a considerable difference in lighting and heating costs which are attributable to the large electricity bill that we received back in July of 2019 which we contested. Our income for events and activities has remained quite constant though obviously we will see a significant reduction this year due to the lockdown and village hall closure.

Thank you to everybody for continuing to contribute towards the upkeep of this great community asset!

Many thanks

Seema Bowers

‘A Life In Lockdown’ Exhibition: Memories of Covid-19 in Gloucestershire 2020

The Museum of Gloucester is inviting everyone in the county to capture their memories of #Gloucestershire during the period of #lockdown, for an exhibition titled ‘A Life in Lockdown’. We’re hoping to display as many memories as possible in an exhibition at the museum in Autumn 2020, as well as a producing a permanent record of this period in our digital collection.

We hope this is something that will be of interest; please find attached the Press release and digital assets for more details.

Please contact me if you would like further information.

Kind regards,

Amy Washington

Changes to The Forerunner distribution

From July 2020 The Forerunner will be published in electronic form rather than a hard copy version delivered to each household.  Each month an email containing the link to the new edition will be sent out to all on the www.kingscoteonline.co.uk mailing list.

Many people are already on the www.kingscoteonline.co.uk mailing list for email alerts about the parish. If you don’t think you are on this emailing list and wish to join it, please contact the webmaster, Alice Cooper.

The Forerunner will also be available on this website and from the benefice website (Nailsworth, Horsley and Kingscote) here.

We recognise that not all people in the parish will have access to the internet. If this is the case for you please let Elin Tattersall know (01453 860182) and we will make alternative arrangements.

Harry Tubbs is retiring as editor of the Forerunner and a new editing team has been set up (Elin Tattersall, Alice Cooper, Pauline McTear). The deadline for contributions to the Forerunner will be 20th of each month. Please send contributions to Elin Tattersall.

A huge thank you to Harry for editing The Forerunner and arranging its distribution over the past 20 years, plus grateful thanks to the team which has distributed the magazine every month. It is a great local resource and we’re pleased that it will continue.
